Want to get involved in helping others?  Here are some of the causes and innovative outreaches we are doing and you could join us.

Help us feed the hungry and lonely through our “Love Thy Neighbor” free meals. Call the church office for dates and times of the meals at 445-5736.  Or help distribute food monthly by volunteering through the Somerset County Mobile Food Bank. Check out www.scmfb.org.  2013-05-27_09-26-01_417

Volunteer to help raise up the next generation of godly children with the Followers Prime Time children’s program on Tuesday nights during the school year.  Ages 5 – 12 years old.  We are at the church every Tuesday from 7:00 – 8:00 PM.  Contact Patty McCall, our lead teacher, at 445-9520 if you have questions.

 Work with the Solar Samaritans as they install solar panels on the homes of the “working poor” of Somerset County.  They meet to pray and plan on the 4th Saturday of each month at 7:30 am in the private room at King’s Family Restaurant in Somerset, PA.

Live a healthier lifestyle by bringing your self and a friend to “The Daniel Plan: glorifying God in the way we eat, move and think!”  This group meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm at First UM Church in the Green Room.  The 12-week class runs start each January through March and September through November.    “Eat less and exercise more!”

P1010383Volunteer to drive the SAM Van to help people get to medical appointments in Altoona, Johnstown and Pittsburgh.  Call Rev. Chuck Olson at 445-2698 to volunteer or schedule a ride.
